ADI Cast Iron
Materials Cast iron
ADI – Austempered Ductile Iron
The meaning ADI hides a group of materials that is distinguished by an unusually favorable combination of strength, toughness and abrasion resistance.
Castings up to 6,000 kg with a maximum size of 1840 x 1840 x 1500 mm (oven size) can be treated fully automatically with the ADI properties.
THE PROPERTIES OF ADI/CONCLUSIONS
Excellent possibilities – opening up new perspectives to all designers. The correct material selection will result in:
- High strength levels
- Concurrent ductility
- High fatigue resistance
- High durability
- Improved sound dampening
- Greater freedom of design
- Accuracy when machining to final dimensions
- Lower prices than normal ductile and case-hardened steel with similar and better properties!
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
- high values for static and dynamic strengh
- Ductility
- High hardening
- Low notch sensitivity
- High fatigue resistance due to cold work-hardening
- Choice of geonetrical design forms
- Good sound dampening properties
- Good machinability
